1.Western or European Honey bee
Currently, seven species and 44 subspecies of honey bees are known to inhabit the world. The most common among the seven species is the Western honey bee that is found in all continents with the exception of Antarctica. It has also been domesticated for the production of honey and the pollination of crops. Only members of the genus Apis are known as the true honey bees.
Because of its wide cultivation, this species is the single most important pollinator for agriculture globally

2. Apis Mellifera Macedonica
The Macedonian honey bee (Apis mellifera macedonica) is a subspecies of the western honey bee (Apismellifera L.). Along with four other subspecies, Macedonian honey bee belongs to the central Mediterranean and Balkan Peninsula group of honey bees. In Republic of Macedonia Apis mellifera macedonica is an autochthonous subspecies (race) and is under special mode of protection.

3. Behaviour
Because honey bees are found worldwide, their nature and behavior can vary. For instance, while Italian honey bees are usually more docile, African honey bees can display extremely defensive behavior. However, all honey bees can become defensive when provoked and can chase humans or animals hundreds of meters.

4. Habitat
Honey bees such as Apis mellifera build a nest containing multiple combs inside a cavity, which may be a hollow tree, a cave, or a cavity in a wall or in the ground.  They can also be kept inside a human-made container, otherwise known as a hive.
The role of honeybees in the nature:
Bees pollinate 80% of flowering plants on Earth.
One single bee colony can pollinate 300 million flowers each day.
Bee pollination helps to provide nourishing habits for animals. birds and other insects.
Bees are major contributors to the floral landscapes that we know and love in nature.

As National winners in Europe Start Up Awards 2017 in category climate, We want to welcome you to be part of a first of its kind, the International Bee Station.

Just as the International Space Station serves as a home where crews of astronauts live in space, to help and improve the extent of human knowledge. We want to create a station where International supporters and fans from the whole world will be with us on the Mission to fight bee decline and make our planet great again!
